M072: I. W. Harper Vitrolite Advertising Sign,

Extremely popular I. W. Harper Whiskey advertising sign, titled "Here's Happy Days", a terrific hunting vignette depicting a hunting cabin with a dog, guns and a bear skin hanging on the wall, copyrighted 1909 by Bernheim Distilling Company. The piece is a chromolithograph transfer on Vitrolite (milk glass) with deep, rich colors, set in its original split log frame. Vitrolite was a structural glass manufactured by The Meyercord Co. of Chicago. Image size approximately 17" x 23”, overall size is 25” x 31”. It is often displayed with light behind it which gives it an even more outstanding presence. The sign itself is in near-mint and undamaged origina1 condition, set in it's original wooden frame.

M163: Illinois River Duck Hunt Oil-On-Board, 1930s

Large oil-on-board by an unknown artist of mallards, redheads and a pintail flying on the Illinois River, circa 1930s. The painting came from a tavern in Peru, Illinois. It has several small nail holes and scrapes, but is richly toned and expertly detailed. The painting has overall dimensions of 96" x 30".

M081: Walter L. Steward Oil on Board

Early original oil on board of two brook trout hanging on a white birch tree, signed "W. L. Steward", and dated 1901. Image size approximately 12" x 6". Framed in original 15" x 21" dark oak frame with gold-leafed trim. Some cracking to the paint in the upper portion of the painting; a couple of very small areas of in painting where the paint has cracked. Steward was from Munson, Maine.
