The dust jacket shows light sunning and very minor wear, primarily at the corners. Martha’s Vineyard has been the home of many skilled waterfowl and shorebird decoy carvers, a talented and independent group who produced a rich diversity of work, all of the highest caliber. This book is an examination of the work of 19 known carvers (Keyes Chadwick, Benjamin Pease, Ben Smith, James Look, Frank Adams, Max Chamberlain, William Dugan, Russell Hancock, Robert Jackson, Hiram Crowell, Manual Swartz Roberts, Matthew & William Mayhew, Allen & Winthrop Norton, Frank Richardson, Edwin Smith, Alton Tuckerman and Littleton Wimpenney) as well as the works of a number of unknown Vineyard craftsmen. The cover is somewhat faded, but the pages are in excellent unmarked condition. An extremely rare and long out of print volume.
